The Museum 2011. Building Identity: The Making of National Museums and Identity Politics, 16-18 November 2011, Taipei, Taiwan

Papers for this conference are solicited on history and theory, empirical research, or reflections on museums in practice as related to national museums and identity politics from academics in a variety of fields. The conference organisers are inviting proposals from delegates wishing to present 30-minute papers, or 90-minute colloquium sessions.

– Architecture and the construction of place and identity
– The re-making of National Museums
– Museum management and marketing
– Audience research and the roles of national museums

All those interested in presenting papers at the conference are requested to submit an abstract in English of their proposed paper by 15 March, 2011 by email attachment (the document should be made with Word 97-2003 compatible application) to Dr Yung-Neng Lin (email: museum2011.tw@gmail.com).

2011 AAM MUSE Awards

Recognizing outstanding achievementin museum media, the AAM Media and Technology Committee announces the 22nd annual Muse Awards competition.

The MUSE Award competition recognizes excellence in media produced by or for museums. The 21st MUSE competition received almost 250 applications from institutions around the world, representing a 70% increase in participation. Categories of media include audio and video tours, interactive kiosks, multimedia installations, websites and ‘web 2.0’formats. See the categories and criteria page for more information.

Reacţia RNMR cu privire la comasarea unor muzee din Cluj

Mesaj RNMR:

Reţeaua Naţională a Muzeelor şi-a exprimat punctul de vedere legat de comasarea muzeelor aflate în subordinea CJ Cluj, printr-un document oficial expediat conducerii CJ şi a Direcţiei de Cultură a CJ.

 

Recomandarea nostră este de a NU se pune în practică o astfel de propunere, iar RNMR a venit cu soluţii concrete în sprijinul rezolvării eficiente a situaţiei din Cluj.
